Spring

Sorry for the lack of pictures on this post - My camera is having some issues. Hopefully I'll be able to post them at another point!

Our busy Spring has almost come to its completion. Today marks the end of the regular season of Gordon baseball. Matt has a doubleheader in Rhode Island today. If they win at least one game, they make it into the playoffs which begin this coming week!

Note: it is now Sunday and I'm pleased to report that they made the playoffs! hooray!

Mom and Dad Moran came to visit last weekend! We loved having them at Gordon's doubleheader and going to church and Cambridge with them. We went to Harvard's Museum of Natural History - fascinating! and ate at the Border Cafe and Five Guys - two of our favorite restaurants here in MA. Per Moran tradition, we also hung out at Au Bon Pain. :)

We did our first triathlon of 2010 last weekend, too. It was cold (we saw flurries later that day - if that helps you imagine how cold it was!) and raining (at one point Matt couldn't feel his feet and I couldn't feel my hands!). But it was quite satisfying and fun to have done it. Our next goal is to run the Boston half marathon at the end of June.

Our church women keep having babies! How foolish was I to think that there would be an end to the baby boom! :) The couples who are married but not pregnant or having kids are in the minority - strange! There are some couples in our church who are infertile...and I really can't comprehend how difficult it must be to be infertile in our church of babies.

Our soul care has been through a lot of difficult transitions this Spring (and it is still transitioning). We are figuring out how to serve people and hold fast to the hope of the Gospel in the midst of it. I am realizing more and more how difficult it is to do ministry, to walk with people day in and day out, and to adjust to caring for people in a church/state where everyone transitions constantly because of school, work...etc. It has made me more grateful for our families and our non-seasonal friends (life friends). Wow. But God is the one holding our soul care group and our church together...and He is faithful. So I/we will trust Him.

In other random news, we re-arranged our living room.

I'm really loving the song "Before the Throne of God Above" these days. Couldn't find online who wrote these lyrics. Hopefully I'm not plagiarising by typing them here (yikes!):

Before the throne of God above
I have a strong, a perfect plea:
A great High Priest, whose name is Love,
Who ever lives and pleads for me.

My name is graven on his hands,
My name is written on his heart;
I know that while in heaven he stands
No tongue can bid me thence depart
No tongue can bid me thence depart.

When Satan tempts me to despair,
And tells me of the guilt within,
Upward I look, and see him there
Who made an end of all my sin.

Because a sinless Savior died,
My sinful soul is counted free;
For God, the Just, is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me
To look on Him and pardon me

Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Praise the One,
Risen Son of God!

Behold him there, the risen Lamb
My perfect, spotless righteousness,
The great unchangeable I am,
The King of glory and of grace!

One in himself, I cannot die
My soul is purchased by his blood
My life is hid with Christ on high,
With Christ, my Savior and my God
With Christ, my Savior and my God

thanks for reading! :)
