Post Christmas and Spring!

Christmas was ages ago and spring is fighting for emergence here in MA. This past weekend it was a beautiful 60 degrees on Saturday and Sunday. Monday morning I awoke to snow and it proceeded to snow/sleet/rain/hail throughout the whole day. I think God is delighting in being spontaneous. I rather like it, but I believe the rest of the North Shore populous does not understand or share this sentiment.

These are quite late, but I don't want to forget to post pictures from our wonderful long Christmas with our families. Hopefully they will give you a taste. Sweet sweet memories...

Granny and David...
I love how Dad, Chris and Matt are all sitting the same way in this pic. :-)

Noelle is our faithful blog watcher and a couple of weeks ago I received this e-mail from her:
"UPDATE BLOG!!!"
So, here we are again, trying to figure out what current happenings in our life could be remotely interesting enough to blog about. :-)

Matt is away this week in Florida (yes, while I got the weirdness in the weather) with the Gordon baseball team. And although I enjoy his daily updates from Orlando, I can't wait for 1)him to come back and
2) the home games to start!
You know she's a Moran when...anticipating Spring means anticipating sitting outside watching baseball games. :-)

Our latest venture together is to become triathletes. We are about halfway through our 16 week training schedule.
Through this we have learned the following:
1) we don't know how to swim
2) the 'Idiot's guide to triathlons' really does give good tips
3) Laurel could never do this solo- gotta have Matt right there trekking along beside me!

Overall, we're getting better and seeing results- so much so that it has actually been kind of fun! Maybe, just maybe, we might be able to actually do this without passing out midway through.

In other news, my sister Carrie gave birth to a gorgeous baby girl last month and we are so excited to be aunt and uncle to Clara Joy!

And...Matt's brother Charlie got his license! He is now officially a man-of-the-road. Very exciting!
Hopefully the face that Charlie is making in this pic will not be the face of the people driving in the opposite direction. :-)

Our church is bursting at the seams. There are 10 pregnant women in our church- craziness! And they are all going to have babies about 2 weeks apart. No joke. This week it all starts- every 2 weeks from here on out we are going to have a new baby in our church. It's an epidemic! I'm having to seriously stock up on onesies and diapers because of all the baby showers.

We are psyched that my parents are coming up at the end of this month and the Morans are coming up in April!! I confess...I am a family fanatic and my fanaticism is incurable. We can't wait!!!!

It is now over a week later, Matt is home and home baseball games have officially begun. I already have a sunburn. Sadly, it is only on one side of my face because of the way I was facing the field. I am quite two toned. But...it was well worth it- it was very cool to see Matt doing the coaching thing and Chris up to the plate.

We have been watching basketball galore these days. The Syracuse Orange in the Sweet Sixteen, baby! I'm excited to watch the OK/SU game this weekend with my parents - partly because it should be a very excellent game and partly because my Mom gets very excited about basketball. I will be very disappointed if I don't hear her "I LOVE this game!" at least once throughout the course of the game.

Till next time (after Syracuse wins the National Championship and we have finished reveling in the win... :) )!
